SUMMARY:Cancer cachexia: Externally-led patient-focused drug development me

DESCRIPTION:This  virtual meeting\, hosted by Cancer Support Community\, i
 s meant to raise awareness of the impact of cancer cachexia – a conditio
 n that causes drastic unintentional weight loss associated with a cancer d
 iagnosis or during treatment. This meeting will be focused on listening to
  and learning from patient and caregiver perspectives on living with cance
 r cachexia.\nExternally-led patient-focused drug development meetings like
  this are based on a process established by the Food and Drug Administrati
 on (FDA). They give key stakeholders in the drug development process an op
 portunity to hear directly from disease patients about the symptoms that c
 oncern them the most\, the impact of the disease on their lives\, and thei
 r experiences with current treatments. This input can inform FDA’s decis
 ions and oversight both during drug development and during their review of
  a marketing application for a new drug.\n\nAny patients or caregivers who
  have an interest in this topic and/or have experienced unintended weight
