The Fibrolamellar Cancer Foundation (FCF) has awarded a new research grant to investigators at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. Research has identified SLC16A14 as one of the most highly upregulated genes in FLC, making it a potential candidate for therapeutic development. However, much remains unknown about SLC16A14’s biological function and whether it can be leveraged to benefit patients.

Through this project, researchers will apply advanced AI-enabled approaches to better understand SLC16A14 and identify opportunities for therapeutic intervention. By expanding knowledge of this understudied target, the team aims to generate insights that could help guide the development of future treatments for FLC.
