Rare Disease Day 2025

February 28th is Rare Disease Day — a worldwide event hoping to improve the lives of the 300 million people worldwide who are living with rare diseases, their families, and their caregivers. Rare Disease Day was launched in 2008 by EURORDIS – Rare Diseases Europe and takes place on the last day of February each year in more than 100 countries. Since its creation, Rare Disease Day has played a critical role in ensuring that rare diseases remain a global priority, mobilizing patient communities, researchers, policymakers, healthcare professionals, and industry leaders.

There are many Rare Disease Day events scheduled throughout the country and the world, many of which can be found on the official Rare Disease Day website.

At the center of Rare Disease Day is the belief that everyone deserves access to quality healthcare and support, regardless of their condition. By spreading the word, sharing experiences, volunteering, advocating for policy changes, supporting research, or making donations, each of us can help make a difference in the lives of rare disease patients.
