Today, on World Cancer Research Day, we join the global cancer community in recognizing the power of research to transform lives. This year’s theme, “Cancer Research Needs Us All,” resonates with our mission at the Fibrolamellar Cancer Foundation (FCF)—where patients, families, researchers, and supporters unite to accelerate progress against fibrolamellar carcinoma (FLC), a rare and aggressive liver cancer.
🔬 Research Milestones in 2025
FCF is proud to be funding four groundbreaking clinical trials, including a groundbreaking trial of an anti-cancer vaccine in Tubingen, Germany, and the newly launched DT2216 trial, which explores an innovative combination of chemotherapy and a targeted therapy. We’ve also awarded several new grants to leading institutions like Ohio State University, the University of Washington, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, supporting the development of new fibrolamellar models and exploring new ways to disrupt FLC growth.
🤝 Collaboration & Community
This June, we hosted the 6th International Fibrolamellar Scientific Summit, bringing together top researchers to share insights and forge new collaborations. And two weeks ago, we held our annual Patient & Family Gathering in Vermont which offers a space for connection, support, and shared hope.
💛 Join Us in the Fight
On this World Cancer Research Day, we invite you to stand with us. Whether you’re a researcher, a patient, a caregiver, or a supporter—your voice matters. Help us raise awareness, fund critical research, and bring hope to those affected by fibrolamellar carcinoma.
