Fibrolamellar carcinoma (FLC) is a rare cancer of the liver that usually occurs in teens and young adults under 40 years old. This cancer is different than other types of liver cancer because it affects individuals who have otherwise healthy livers. FLC is believed to comprise between 1% and 5% of all liver cancers. FLC affects both men and women and is thought to occur in about one of five million people in the US.
